Construction of the Elevated Guideway over Lincoln Avenue

As part of construction of the elevated guideway for the Evergreen Line, there will be temporary lane closures on Pinetree Way southbound and on Lincoln Avenue on the west side of Pinetree Way. This work will begin midweek the week of January 12 and will continue for up to two weeks to allow crews to lift guideway segments into place using the launching truss.

WHAT TO EXPECT
• Lane closures of Pinetree Way southbound between Northern Avenue and Anson Avenue will be implemented while elevated guideway construction in this area is underway. Crews will be working Monday to Saturday, 24 hours a day.
• Lincoln Avenue closures will be implemented as follows:
o Intermittent daytime lane closures of Lincoln Avenue eastbound (to Pinetree Way). Access to the mall from Pinetree Way via Lincoln Avenue will be maintained during mall business hours.
o Full nighttime closures of Lincoln Avenue outside of mall hours. When the full closure is in effect, drivers wishing to access the mall will be detoured to Northern Avenue and/or Anson Avenue.
• Intermittent stoppages of two to three minutes for traffic on Lincoln Avenue while crews use the launching truss to move guideway segments into place over the roadway.
• Temporary sidewalk closures will be implemented on the south side of Lincoln Avenue while the launching truss is in operation. For the safety of all pedestrians, please follow posted signs and the instructions of traffic control personnel while construction is underway. The temporary detour route will be clearly marked.
• Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise related to construction activities, including the use of heavy machinery. Every effort will be made to minimize noise and disruptions when possible.
• Access to businesses will be maintained. Business access signs will be installed so that the entrances to businesses are clearly marked.
• All traffic pattern changes will be well-signed and traffic control personnel will be on-site to assist drivers and pedestrians. Please follow the directions of traffic control personnel and posted signs while construction is underway.
Once the section of guideway that spans over Lincoln Avenue is complete, the launching truss will continue to move north to lift segments into place leading to the future Lincoln Station.

Temporary Nighttime Construction near Lincoln Station

As part of ongoing construction for the Evergreen Line, there will be intermittent nighttime construction near the future Lincoln Station area starting January 4. Crews will be delivering large concrete beams (girders) to the work site near the future Lincoln Station and removing steel brackets on the elevated guideway crossover on Pinetree Way. Nighttime work is required due to the size of the girders and the need for lane closures on Pinetree Way.

WHAT TO EXPECT
• Nighttime deliveries and installation of the girders will take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will continue intermittently for approximately three weeks.
• There will be temporary nighttime stoppages of traffic on Pinetree Way between Northern Avenue and Lincoln Avenue to deliver the girders.
• To remove the steel brackets from the elevated guideway crossover, there will be nighttime lane closures on Pinetree Way between Northern Avenue and Glen Drive from 9 p.m. 6 a.m. for approximately one week starting on January 4.
• Nearby residents can expect noise related to construction activities, including the use of heavy machinery.
• Every effort will be made to minimize the use of back-up beepers, including using flag persons at night to assist with the maneuvering of trucks. However, in some instances, back-up beepers will be required for safety reasons.
• For the safety of drivers and pedestrians, please follow the instructions of traffic control personnel and posted signs while construction is underway.

Construction of the future Lincoln Station will be ongoing throughout 2015. Once crews install the concrete girders, they will begin construction of the platform area of Lincoln Station.
