Well it’s September and the summer is over and fall has begun, but lucky for us the weather is still beautiful there are still a few activities and festivals that we can all enjoy. One of those activities is the Terry Fox Run. It’s not every day that we Canadians get to celebrate a local hero, not to mention that he comes from one of our very own Tri-City communities of Port Coquitlam. Every year on September 14th Canadians all over the country get together to raise money and walk or run anywhere from 2 - 10km to honour one of Canada’s greatest heroes who raised so much awareness and hope for those effected with Cancer by running across the nation despite his illness.
No matter where you live there is a run happening in your community and right here in and around our backyard, the Tri-Cities, there five festivals. So grab those running shoes one more time before the weather starts to become cold again and get out there:
Coquitlam: Blue Mountain Park
Registration: 9:15am, Run Starts 10:15am, Event Close: 1pm

Port Moody: PCT Performance Stage - Rocky Point Park

10 km, 5km, 2km; routes along shoreline trail looping back to Rocky Point Park
