Product Overview:
As the game evolves to a more distance-centric playing style, players are finding themselves facing an increasing number of scoring opportunities from 125 yards and in. As it is, 65% of all golf shots take place from this distance, and that number is only expected to rise. This evolution in the game demands an evolution in the wedge game, as well.
With the
588 RTX 2.0 Tour Satin Wedge
,
Cleveland
set out to give golfers more control and increased versatility with their wedge, which ultimately leads to lower scores. They added control by improving the Rotex Face for more consistent spin from all conditions, and they also created three new versatile sole grinds to provide the best turf interaction for a variety of player types.
Cleveland's Rotex face technology literally changed the face of spin in golf, and now the Rotex 2.0 takes spin control to yet another level. Deeper grooves and a new micro-milled Rotex face pattern gives this wedge the most surface roughness the USGA will allow.
Fourth-generation Tour Zip grooves feature 8% larger walls and sharper radii than ever before, allowing more grass, dirt, and moisture to be channeled away from the face for cleaner contact and more consistent spin. The Rotex 2.0 face's advanced, two-pass micro-milling pattern provides a strategically designed roughness that leads to increased friction and more spin, especially from inconsistent lies. The laser milling process fine tunes the micro-roughness for more consistency and texture across the face. This allows Cleveland to reach the USGA roughness limit, and pushing this boundary lends itself to increased spin on pitch and chip shots.
Features:
Low Bounce Grind
The
1 Dot
grind keeps the leading edge close to the ground so players can hit aggressive lob shots; however, it still provides ample bounce and turf interaction on square-faced full shots. Low Bounce Grind is ideal for firm conditions and/or players with a more shallow attack angle.
S
tandard Bounce Grind
2 Dot
grind is designed for all-around playability and versatility. It allows the golfer to execute a wide range of shots around the green. Standard Bounce Grind is ideal for a wide variety of conditions and/or players with a neutral attack angle.
Full Sole
3 Dot
grind is designed for those who like using the entire sole to their advantage around the greens. The full shape gives stability on square and open face shots alike. Full Sole Grind is ideal for softer conditions and/or players with a steep attack angle.
