About the Canadian Red Cross: Walmart Canada is committed to the communities we serve and focused on supporting Canadian families in need. Since 2003, we have been working with the Canadian Red Cross to do just that, provide relief to families and communities in need during times of disaster. Money contributed through our annual campaign provides the Canadian Red Cross with consistent, dependable funding so that, when disaster strikes, they have the funds they need to act immediately. Did you know? •On average, funds collected during this campaign help 1 in 4 Canadians assisted by Red Cross. •When personal disasters strike – an event typically affecting a single family like a house fire or sewage backup – the Canadian Red Cross provides food, shelter, clothing and essential supplies for up to 72 hours. •The Canadian Red Cross operates 300+ branches with around 20,000 volunteers from coast to coast. •2 million+ Canadians use Red Cross programs and services each year. •The Red Cross responds to disasters big and small in Canada every 3 hours.+
