However, this plating may irritate metal allergies. Titanium is preferred for PVD because it's a porous metal. This porosity holds the plating longer than other metals. 316LVM surgical steel is hypoallergenic because its low carbon vacuum melted. This process sucks out a nickel, which is one of the most common causes of metal allergies.
