The Signature Fitness Deep Dish Cast Iron Plates are inspired by old school competition weightlifting. Historically, deep dish plates were favored more for functionality than aesthetic, as their increased surface area minimized the damage to wooden platforms and rubber mats when dropped. But over time, they grew to be equally prized for their vintage appearance. Constructed of solid cast iron with a 2-inch machine drilled hole and durable Black Enamel finish, these plates are simple, classic, and tough enough to endure a rock-solid workout! Note: Each weight plate has a 2-inch center hole diameter that is designed to fit on standard Olympic Barbells. The plates use an electrically applied paint coating (e-coating), a technique initially developed for the automotive industry, due to its excellent adhesion, even coverage, and corrosion resistance. As a wet application, E-coat goes on thinner than powder coating, resulting in a smooth feel that retains more of the natural grit of the casting.
