The yellow gold-tone is a 14k gold PVD coating. This stands for Physical Vapour Deposition. This is when 14k gold is deposited onto the titanium as a vapour. As a result, the titanium looks gold. This coating may cause allergic reactions. PVD coatings last longer than traditional platings. 316LVM surgical steel is hypoallergenic because it is low carbon vacuum melted. This process sucks out the nickel from the metal. Nickel is one of the most common causes of metal allergies. Please note: this process cannot remove all the nickel and a very small amount of people have reactions to 316LVM surgical steel. If this is you, we recommend our implant grade titanium jewelry.
