More than 40 years after the end of the original series “Les belles histoires des pays d’en haut”, which marked generations of Quebecers, here comes the new TV adaptation of the novel “Un homme et son péché” written by Henri Grignon in 1933. “LES PAYS D’EN HAUT” is a love triangle tale between the greedy Séraphin (Vincent Leclerc), the beautiful Donalda (Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse), and the courageous Alexis (Maxime Le Flaguais). The series takes us back to Québec’s late 19th century rural period. With its strong uncensored dialogues, this spinoff, directed by the talented Sylvain Archambault, is far more modern and cinematographic.
